Stories

sorry that this is so long overdue... but when you break your computer complications like this can occur. but to be perfectly honest not to much has gone on. still learning lots with the firedepartment, but not as quick as I need to be with rolling the hoses back up. especially after the water has gone through them. but with time. im sure the improvement will come.

I also went to a "spielen die Generation" which was with the young firefighters to a relay day. so there was 9 adults. and about 10 kids in our group. which was then split into 2. we did a series of fun relay like a potato sac race and a ball toss.. there was 43 teams in totally all including at least 4 adults and then kids. so im guessing about 200 people. after the day was done everyone stands in a big half circle for awards... my group decided that if we won anything i had to go get it and speak in english to the chief so he knew I was from Canada... well we got 9th place so I had to go up and get this trophy.. I said thankyou and then told him I was from Canada.. and as I turned to walk back to my group I dropped the top half of the trophy in front of EVERYONE and made a ohgg kinda noise.. along with everyone else in the crowd. my face turned bright red and I started to laugh. the chief giving out the awards then announce to everyone that i was from Canada(making me even more embarrassed) but of course this is something that would happen to me... haha after that the young firefighters (that I was a part of) pulled me over to the side and thanked me for coming with them and gave me the trophy to keep. :) it was a great day and even though I was embarrassed I came out with a great storyto hopefully make you guys miss me a little bit!

other than that I don't really think there is anything out of the regular day to day stuff that is all that interesting. I still get fairly amazed by all things and with everything turning soo green it is absolutely beautiful.

oh I did have to say my first goodbye which absolutely sucked and i only knew him for about 3 months.proving to me how hard it is going to be to leave this new life I am creating when my year is done. (I don't remember if I have already explained this friendship so IM sorry if this is a repeat) Mario is a guy from Romania that worked for my papa, our friendship started out with me trying to talk to him and it not really going anywhere cause he didn't like to talk in English and couldn't speak very good German (not like I would have been able to understand him if he did) I was just so excited to have someone around that was my own age I eventually got through and we started to hang out when he was done work for the day. our conversations to an outsider would probably be very confusing considering we both mixed in German and English.. with the occasional bit of Spanish here or there. it turned out that we have quite a bit in common and enjoyed eachothers company to the point where my papa even jokingly reminded me that I promised I would stay the full year ;) but now he has gone back to Romania. but i know that this was just the first of many goodbye that will be coming my way.. so i guess it is just another learning experance.
