Almost Two Whole Months

As we come to the 2 month mark. Things are going wonderful. Lately i have done a lot of horseback riding, some biking, even rollerblading. I also got to participate in my first Sunday Funday with the Natendorf fire department... we went up to Lüneburg and participated in a all day relay event, i was surrounded by firefighters from all over Germany and always had a drink in my hand.. so needless to say i was quite content. The weather has been spectacular all the trees are budding and everything is already quite green, which has also made playing with the kids a bit easier because now we play outside. However this week and next is their Easter break so i have all 3 at home and with my German still not fully functioning it can get a little stressful. But as of now all is well. And i will continually say I LOVE IT HERE.

Also.. as of yesterday evening.. i am now a member of the Natendorf fire department... my first training session is on Tuesday so we will see how that goes.. currently we are training for a 3 tiered competition in July where we compete against other fire departments, so that could be interesting.

And finally cause i cant remember what else i wanted to tell you fine people... for 2 months of being here my ability to understand German is pretty good.. however speaking in sentences still isn’t my thing...

Routine

Life since my birthday has been great! in a full routine and even got into a language class. i drive 20 min to Lüneburg every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon for a hour and a half language class. so far the class is going great however i am not learning anything that will really help me with the children.. but you gotta start somewhere right??

Lately i have been thinking though how much i miss being a child. the simplicity of everything, yesterday for example we were playing outside (the weather is getting sooo nice) and we were playing house Ronja went and got grass, dirt and different things from the yard to use as food. watching her do this, it all came back to me. i use to play outside for hours pretending leaves were food and dirt was peanut-butter or various other things. life was so great. i could be anything i wanted and make anything i could dream of. realizing this really made me thankful for everything i have in my life, and that i get experience that carefree simplicity of life all over again. even though i am struggling with bringing my imagination back up to what it once was, im sure after some training all my wonderful childlike ways will resurface.

Other than that... life is grand!
